I paint because I have to.
I have the need to express my creative self thru painting. I am drawn
to things that are beautiful to me, whether it is flowers, landscapes,
or shapes. I create in still life or place man-made objects in such
a way that the design excites me or emotes some kind of emotional response.
I know I started drawing before going to kindergarten. I received
my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Framingham State College in Massachusetts
and have done oils, acrylics, pottery, sculpture and studied
interior design. In 1980, I fell in love with watercolor and have been
painting
in that medium ever since. I have recently taken up pastels,
which I find very challenging.
I am a signature member of the widely
acclaimed Northeast Watercolor Society. I am also a member of the
Doylestown Art League, Oreland
Art Center, North Penn Art Alliance and Mount Pocono Art Alliance.
I
have had a number of one-person shows in Bucks County and at the
Lake Naomi Clubhouse in the Poconos. I also teach watercolor at Lake
Naomi in the summer.
For the past few years, I have been juried
into the benefit shows of NOVA (Network Of Victim Assistance), BARC
( Bucks County Retarded
Citizens) and the Foxchase Cancer Center Annual Art Show.
Over the
past 15 years, I have studied with such nationally acclaimed watercolorists
as Kass Moran Freeman, AWS; Judith Betts, AWS; Betty
Lou Schlem, AWS; Lee Everett, PSWC; Rober Laessig, AWS; and Roland
Roycroft.
I have been a member of the well-known co-op gallery, "The Upstairs
Gallery" of Peddler's Village, in Lahaska, PA, for 12 years.
